Kadamba started this family counselling centre in 2005 at Kumta, Uttara Kannada, with the help of the Women & Child Development Department of the Government of Karnataka.
Background
Since 1999 Kadamba has worked for the socio-economic development of women, starting with SHGs in remote villages backed by training and micro finance.
Along the way it became clear that women, especially from downtrodden communities, were deeply concerned about their security and needed extra care for their emotional well-being. Kadamba stepped into a women’s helpline.
The centre guides people through tough times and supports them to rebuild their lives — particularly women who have suffered.
